Getting started
Install RetroLab through TestFlight. RetroLab requires iOS 17 or later on iPhone, or iPadOS 17 or later on iPad. Open the camera, choose an included look, and take a photo. Your captures and edits are available in the in-app library.
Camera and film choices have distinct effects. Film stocks are offered for compatible camera types. Some creative features require an optional Pro purchase.
Camera, microphone & Photos
Allow camera access to take photos or videos. Microphone access is used when recording video with sound. Photos access is requested for the library actions you choose.
If a permission was denied, open Settings on your device, find RetroLab, and review the relevant permission. You can change these choices at any time. If the camera is unavailable, check that another app is not using it and reopen RetroLab.
Saving & editing
A capture can be kept in RetroLab even if a Photos export needs another attempt. If an export is pending, check Photos permission and available device storage, then use the app’s retry option.
When an edit cannot be saved, keep the editor open and try again after addressing the error. Keep copies of photos you want to preserve in Photos or another location you control before deleting the app or clearing its local data.
Standard saving is free and does not add a watermark.
Pro & restoring purchases
Optional Pro plans are purchased through Apple. The app shows the price, billing period, and any offer before you confirm. A lifetime purchase is a one-time purchase; a subscription renews according to the terms shown by Apple.
To recover an eligible purchase, sign in with the Apple Account used to buy it and choose Restore Purchases in RetroLab. If it does not appear, check that the purchase is listed in your Apple purchase history and contact support with the product and approximate purchase date. Do not send your password or payment details.
Apple manages subscription cancellation and refund requests. Deleting RetroLab does not cancel a subscription. Refund availability depends on Apple’s rules and your region.
